Guarded by towering bamboo spikes, this sprawling La Cienega space houses four dining rooms, a patio with a glowing fireplace, a lounge and a bustling sushi bar. A chic Asian theme is accented by crimson hues, dark-wood beams and Buddha statues. Couples fill tables in candelit dining rooms, while decked-out singles sip sake and size up the action on the patio.

Brunch and Bloody Marys are what The Belmont does best. The bar/restaurant on La Cienega has garnered a following from young industry movers and shakers because of its casual atmosphere and menu specials. Aside from the daily half-off Happy Hour, the Belmont offers the Early Bird Special, where breakfast selections are under $6 before 10 a.m., and the popular weekend Build Your Own Bloody Mary bar, which goes brilliantly with brunch. The tables under the front covered patio are the most desirable as the volume inside tends to hover on the loud side.

Through an eye-catching glass-block entrance lies a sculpted-concrete and exotic-wood-based interior. In the dining room, circular low-back chairs and banquette seating are surrounded by an open fireplace, 20-foot waterfall, and towering wine cellar attended by flying "wine fairies." Menu selections highlight evolved steakhouse fare with southern touches such as barbecue pork three ways (pulled, loin and belly), venison chop and a bacon-wrapped blue nose bass. The bar and lounge feature circular fire pits, James Bond-inspired sofas and an open ceiling for stargazing.
