» Parents: LeAnne "Mirage" WalkerLeAnne was always a rather wild woman. She picked up the nickname Mirage in high school. At parties, you were never sure she was actually there or not. You'd catch a glimpse of her and then she'd be off doing something (or someone) else. The nickname stuck and it was pretty fitting for the flighty young woman....
Her father was unknown

» Good Memory: "So I remember when I got Banjo...It was 3 years ago now. Hard to believe it's been that long...Time's flown. At any rate. I was sick of living along and I decided I wanted a dog. A medium sized one, no annoying yappy little things. Bleh. I have alwasy loved Australian Shepherds, and I decided that was what I really wanted, so that's what I got...I went to the petshop and this puppy was pawing at the glass like he was waving...Freckin adorable. Of course, I was convinced he was the one for me...And I was right. He's a complete angel. And a killer on the agility course!"
» Bad Memory: "I remember the first time I really caught my mom doped up good. I was like, 12. I was a naive little girl, yes I know. At any rate, she never really did a whole lot around me, but I was supposed to be spending the night at a friend's. Well, I got sick and so my friend's mom brought me home, and I walked in the door and my was just totally doped up...It was awful. She didn't even know who I was....."
» Random Memory: "I remember my first day of school...I was a nerdy little kid. I wore a skirt and I had my big ol' nerd glasses.....And I met my best friend...She's pretty great. We're still pretty close. And lunch was DISGUSTING....I almost puked...."

» Sample Post: Adelle offered a polite smile to the young man as he motioned her forward. Thanks she said quietly. She stared at her billfold as she watched the cashier bag the halter. The contrast between her wallet and the blingy halter was a little hilarious, but oh well. Don't ever let Dad see you with this she thought to herself with a slight smile. Her dad would have said it was "fanciful" and "unnecesary" or maybe even "damned expensive." Adelle almost laughed outight at the thought. She loved her dad so much. She heaved a small sigh without realizing she did it. She was definitely going to miss her family.
She smiled at the lady at the counter as she shoved the bills into her billfold and the change into her pocket. Thank you she said earnestly. Ya'll have a nice day now she said, directing the comment at no one in particular, generally the man behind her and the lad yat the counter and pushing through the door.
She made her way out the door, the little bell tingling behind her. A loud whinny and sharp kick of hoof on metal rang in Adelle's ears, drowning out the bell behind her. She rolled her blue eyes dramatically as she made her way to the beat up old trailer. She quickly dragged the sliding door open, pulling it mostly closed behind her, in case Mel got up to any of her usual antics, and Adelle had a feeling that she'd be getting in some unusual ones, too. Nearly 20 hours in the trailer was a long time, especially for a horse (and rider) that were used to putting in 8 hours a day at least with space to move after that. Even Adelle, quiet, easy going Adelle, could feel herself going a little stir crazy. She wouldn't have wanted to be Mel at this point in time.
The mare squealed almost accusingly as Adelle opened the middle gate, nearly bowling the girl over. HEY! Adelle exclaimed, too loudly, her voice echoing in the trailer as she flung the halter in the mare's face. She slammed the gate shut and frowned at the mare, nibbling on her thumb. The mare snorted and stomped in a rather frustrated manner. Well, are you gonna run me over again? Adelle asked, the flair of anger that had erupted only moments before completely gone now. She narrowed her eyes at the mare, picking herself up, squaring her shoulders, and bringing up the dirtiest look she could manage, waiting until she had caught the mare's eye to pull the door open. The mare knew the look, and she stayed respectfully in the corner this time. Despite her easy going and generally gentle nature, Adelle could be a complete monster when a horse crossed her path. Melody, with her rebelious nature, had crossed that path many times during her training, but she stayed respectufally away from it these days.
That's a girl Adelle murmured quietly, stepping forward as the gate swung out to the side. She quietly haltered the mare, rubbing her down gently to remind her that the blond wasn't some horse-eating predator, even if she looked like one, and led the mare down the trailer. The mare jumped off too eagerly, nearly dragging the girl a few feet before a sharp yank brought her back around. Would you quit?! Adelle exclaimed in aggravation. Pent up energy is no excuse to behave this way. You know better she told the mare sharply, and, as if she could understand, the brown mare sidled up to the blue eyed blond, looking properly ashamed of herself. That's my girl Adelle murmured, gently rubbing the mare'rs face. Are you going to behave? she asked quietly. The mare snorted softly, as if to say yes. Adelle laughed mildly and glanced up. She was rather making a scene, but she had no idea how much furthur it was to her destination, and she knew both her and Melody would go crazy if they were stuck in the trailer for much longer. She didn't think it was too much furthur...At least she hoped not. She heaved a sigh and turned to stroke the mare's neck affectionately, wondering what to do with herself. She thought she might scream if she even thought about getting back in that pickup, and she could hardly tow her horse around like a dog, and, silly as it seemed, she didn't thin kshe could shove Melody back in the trailer either. Not only the whole emotional attatchment, anthropomorphizing thing, but she really wasn't sure she could get Mel back in the trailer. The mare might just refuse to go, and that would definitely cause a scene. The mare had pulled it before. Adelle heaved a sigh, rubbing the mare's nose gently, thinking about her options as Mel's ears and eyelids began to droop as she relaxed. Adelle glanced down. Well, that might make things easier she mumbled. She turned and led the mare up the trailer. The massive brown horse ambled up easily after, not protesting as Adelle tied her swiftly in a boline knot and slipped back down, latching the gate before wandering to the front of the pickup. She pulled the key from the ignition so the door wouldn't ding and dragged the map, sitting sideways on the seat, her boots on the runningboard as she consulted her trusty map...
